Non-profit organizations are unique. Their missions are for the public benefit, they have no owners and uncertain funding, and yet have full accountability to their stakeholders and community. Small organizations are typically led by individuals with great passion, but often with little organizational know-how. Large non-profits may provide more services than their local or state government, and rival large businesses in size and complexity. Whether large or small, non-profits are challenging to govern and sustain.
SLR’s work with non-profits began with community health centers. Over the years our commitment to the success of these organizations, which are critical to the fabric and well-being of all our communities, has grown and become our passion.
The focus of SLR’s portfolio of work with non-profits has been to increase their capacity to govern and operate effectively. We are ready to plunge in and help you renew your organization’s energy and ability to fulfill your mission, or to start a new non-profit that has the infrastructure and knowledge to be successful.
